Why does the face lose its firmness as we age?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ageing process affects all layers of tissue, not just the surface of the skin. As we age, the body gradually reduces its production of collagen<\/a><\/strong> i elastins<\/a><\/strong>, i.e. the proteins responsible for the skin\u2019s firmness, resilience and elasticity. As a result, wrinkles appear, the skin becomes thinner and its ability to regenerate decreases significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally important are the changes taking place in the facial muscles. Just like the muscles throughout the body, they lose volume and tone as the years go by. As the muscles responsible for supporting the tissues weaken, the skin gradually sags. It is at this point that sagging cheeks, a less defined facial contour, a drooping jawline and sagging eyebrows begin to become visible. Ageing is therefore the result of changes occurring simultaneously in the skin and in the deeper underlying structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How EMFACE technology works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the cornerstones of the therapy is radiofrequency (RF)<\/a><\/strong>, which heats the tissues to a temperature of around 40\u201342\u00b0C<\/strong>. This level of energy stimulates fibroblasts to produce new fibres collagen<\/strong> i elastins<\/strong>, which are responsible for the skin\u2019s firmness and elasticity. The process of tissue reconstruction that takes place is known as skin remodelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clinical trials have shown that, following the completion of treatment, it was possible to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by as much as 36,8%<\/strong>, and many patients also reported an improvement in skin firmness and a more defined facial contour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second element of the therapy is technology HIFES<\/strong>, which causes intense contractions of the facial muscles responsible for lifting the tissues. These repeated contractions stimulate the regeneration of muscle fibres, increase their tone and improve their ability to support the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The combination of both technologies means that EMFACE<\/strong> It affects both the quality of the skin and the deeper structures.
