Endometriosis is a disease that develops after the endometrium, the membrane lining the uterine body, has migrated elsewhere in the body. This is accompanied by pains that worsen especially during menstruation - the tissue reacts to changing hormone levels, flakes off every month and, as it has no outlet with the menstrual blood, forms an enlarging tumour. It can happen that the endometrium gets into the caesarean section scars. The most common sign of an endometrial scar is the appearance of a small thickening that can be felt in the subcutaneous tissue. The adhesion can - especially during menstruation - cause pain. Over time, the pain is very great and the woman feels it even when sneezing.
