In order to minimise the negative reaction even further and to promote the healing process and ensure the best possible result from the treatment, it is advisable to follow the recommendations:
- If you are taking blood-thinning medication, you should consult your GP about your intention to perform the procedure and consider discontinuing them in the perioperative period.
- Exercise should be avoided immediately after the procedure.
- If you are susceptible to herpes consider prophylactic use of an antiviral drug such as acyclovir before surgery.
- Avoid drinking alcohol on the day of surgery
- Do not apply cosmetics to the injected area for 48 hours.
- Avoid sunbathing or using saunas.
Remember - regardless of the measures used - swelling is a natural reaction of the body to the injection. It is not an indicator of a medical condition and should disappear within a few days.
