Contraindications to EXION Fractional Radiotherapy include:
- Pregnancy/breastfeeding.
- Bacterial or viral infection, acute inflammation.
- Current or past history of cancer.
- Use of isotretinoin within the last 12 months.
- Metal implants near the treatment area or neutral electrode.
- A pacemaker or any other active electrical implant anywhere in the body.
- Cardiovascular diseases (e.g. vascular disease, arterial disease, thrombosis)
- Active skin diseases in the treatment area such as psoriasis, rashes, herpes, rosacea, eczema. A tendency to scarring (keloids).
- Blood clotting disorders or use of anticoagulants.
- Uncontrolled diabetes.
- Excessive tanning from the sun, tanning bed or self-tanners in the last two weeks.
- Treatment performed with botulinum toxin/collagen/fat injection at the treatment site within three months.
