Hyaluronic acid treatment involves the injection under the skin of a top quality substance that has the consistency of a gel. Usually the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, but an experienced doctor with a good hand can administer the filler in such a way that anaesthesia may not be necessary. Juvederm or Stylage has lidocaine, an anaesthetic, in its composition, so the treatment itself is hardly felt.

For a few hours after the tear valley filling procedure, overexposure to the tear valley should be avoided, as well as touching and massaging the injection sites. Overexposure to sunlight and heat (solarium, sun rays, sauna) should be avoided for about three days.
