Atopic dermatitis, also known as AD or eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a genetic basis. The causes of atopic dermatitis are a combination of genetic and environmental factors. AD manifests as a red scalp indicating the development of inflammation, pimples appear. Furthermore, the skin is itchy, very dry and thickened, which is described as scales, typical of the condition.
