Atopic dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis, Also called AD or eczemais a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a genetic basis. Typical dermatological symptoms are redness, dryness and flaking of the skin in the scalp region.

Causes atopic dermatitis is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Frequent exposure to allergens plays a major role. Development of AZS is fostered by improper care, zła diet and chronic stress. Atopic dermatitis - symptoms

AD manifests itself red scalp indicating the development of inflammation, pustules (which may take an exudative form) usually also appear. Furthermore, the skin is itchy, very dry and thickened, which is referred to as scales, typical of this condition. Some patients affected by this condition also notice a excessive hair loss. 

AD of the head - treatment and supportive measures

Treatment of AD of the head is a challenge for doctors and focuses mainly on alleviating the bothersome symptoms of dermatosis. The selection of an appropriate method is preceded by an individual consultation of the patient with a specialist. The doctor may recommend the patient to use topical medications alleviating inflammation. Corticosteroids, for example, are a common part of the treatment process. 

As part of home treatment, it is advisable to apply emollients in the form of lotions, creams or emulsions to the affected areas. If you are prone to atopy, shampoos and conditioners with a highly irritating composition should be avoided. Triggers should be avoided and special care should be taken to scalp hygiene.
