The glands of this system are the thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, pancreas, testes, ovaries and the placenta in pregnant women. The most common reason for visiting an endocrinologist is problems related to the thyroid gland, a small gland located in the neck area, whose main function is to secrete two hormones that are very important for our lives - thyroxine and triiodothyronine.
