Endocrinologist deals with endocrine disorders resulting from diseases of the endocrine system. The glands of this system are thyroid, parathyroid glands, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, pancreas, testes, ovaries and placenta in pregnant women.
The most common thyroid diseases are hypothyroidism i hyperactivity of this gland. In hypothyroidism, the thyroid gland produces too few hormones, which can lead to chronic fatigue, weight gain and feeling cold, among other things. Hyperthyroidism, on the other hand, involves excessive hormone secretion, which often results in weight loss, palpitations and hyperactivity. Autoimmune diseases are also a common problem, such as Hashimoto's disease or Graves-Basedow disease.
