Intestinal surveys This is a set of laboratory tests used to assess the condition of the gastrointestinal tract, in particular the small and large intestines. They are primarily used in the diagnosis of digestive complaints, inflammatory conditions, and disorders of digestion and absorption.
Diagnostic tests may include blood tests and faeces. The most common procedures include, amongst others,. calprotectin in stool, CRP, pancreatic elastase and studies assessing the microbiota and the functioning of the intestinal barrier.
Intestinal surveys It is carried out, amongst other things, in cases of chronic abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation and suspected inflammatory bowel disease. Indications may also include unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite or other persistent gastrointestinal symptoms.
