What method is used to achieve this effect?
Treatment with the FOTONA F22 fractional laser uses a type of erbium-yag laser. The laser causes trauma in the skin in the form of micro-columns at a much lower temperature, so that the skin remodels and renews itself much faster than after a classic fractional laser. With the F22 scanner, we obtain a strong stimulation of the repair processes in the skin, comparable to those obtained with the CO2 fractional laser, with the difference that recovery after Foton laser is twice as short as after CO2 laser.

There are different intensities of the Fotona fractional laser, so you can work on the epidermis or on the deeper layers of the skin for a magnified effect within your needs. The appropriate programme will be selected by your doctor during your pre-treatment consultation.
Foton fractional laser types:
- Gentle exfoliation of the epidermis - The treatment produces a minimal ablative effect on the superficial layer of skin. It causes a refreshing effect. It smooths the skin, reduces fine lines, acne scars and tightens enlarged pores. After this treatment, the skin is slightly reddened.
- Medium exfoliation of the epidermis - A treatment with a stronger ablative element, which will provide more exfoliation and therefore more skin regeneration. This laser peel will result in more pronounced results, but the recovery time will be a tad longer than with gentle exfoliation. Commonly known as 'Las Vegas peeling' - loved by celebrities.
- Deep epidermal exfoliation - The treatment causes ablation at the level of the papillary layer of the dermis. This peel can be repeated at a frequency of 3-9 months for the desired effect. Removes deep discolouration, deeper wrinkles, scars and furrows, as well as deep acne scars, removes facial irregularities such as acne, tightens sagging skin. After the treatment, there is redness which usually subsides after 3-5 days.

- Remember not to perform deep peels for 3 months before the treatment.
- It is best not to tan the skin 3 weeks before the treatment.
- Discontinue retinol medication six months before the procedure.
- Stop drinking photosensitive herbs, e.g. St. John's wort, calendula, field horsetail, two weeks before the procedure.
- The treatment area should be hair-free. We recommend shaving thoroughly the day before the treatment.

The treatment is comfortable thanks to a state-of-the-art cooling system that minimises treatment sensation.
After the treatment you may experience pain for about 2-3 hours similar to the effects of a mild burn. You can take a painkiller but not an anti-inflammatory tablet, e.g. Apap, which will minimise these sensations. Your skin will be reddened and stretched after fractional laser treatment. Sometimes swelling may occur. It is very important that you change to a fresh pillowcase on your pillow and use new or disinfected brushes for make-up. Also change to a fresh face towel.
Depending on the intensity of the laser power, the erythema on the face disappears between one and five days. Thereafter, the skin colour takes on a natural tone. During this time, make-up can be applied and you can return to your daily activities.
