Endometriosis is a disease that develops after the endometrium (the membrane lining the uterine body) has migrated elsewhere in the body. This is accompanied by pains that are particularly exacerbated during menstruation - this tissue reacts to changing hormone levels and forms an enlarging tumour with them.
The endometrium can get into the scar after a caesarean section, the symptom of which is a small thickening that can be felt in the subcutaneous tissue. The adhesion can cause pain, so surgery is a necessary step. After excision of the endometrium, a scar is left on the skin, which can be removed aesthetic medicine methods.
