Keloid scars (connective tissue tumours) - also known as scarring, is an abnormal response of the skin to injury. Keloids are fibrous, hard, irregular or oblong in shape. The skin at the site of keloids is sinuous red. Their cause is an individual tendency to overproduce collagen.
