Androgenetic alopecia This is the most common type of hair loss, linked to genetic factors and the hair follicles’ hypersensitivity to androgens. It is characterised by a gradual reduction in the diameter and length of the hair, which becomes increasingly finer, shorter and weaker. In men, a receding hairline and thinning on the crown are most commonly observed, whilst in women, hair usually thins in the central part of the scalp.
In the case of androgenetic alopecia The hair growth cycle becomes shorter, and the anagen phase gradually shortens. As a result, the follicles produce increasingly finer hair, and over time some of them may cease to produce visible hair altogether. Early diagnosis of the problem allows appropriate treatment to begin sooner. At Wellcinic, the following are available: hair loss treatments tailored to each individual, depending on the cause and severity of the problem.
