Snoring is an uncomfortable phenomenon that literally keeps us awake at night. It is worth knowing its cause - sometimes snoring is a symptom of sleep apnoea, which can lead to hypoxia during sleep. Snoring is nothing more than a hindered airflow through the throat. It arises as a result of muscle relaxation and subsequent descent of the soft palate. We most often associate such symptoms with old age, although snoring can also occur in younger people. There is no correlation - snoring at night can be the result of individual characteristics, i.e. crooked nasal septum or hypertrophied tonsils, for example.
