How to cure sleep apnoea?

Sleep apnoea, professionally known as OBS (obstructive sleep apnoea), is a disease characterised by repeated episodes of respiratory arrest or airflow limitation through the airways, usually following physical exertion. Being unaware of the disease can lead to serious health consequences. It is even said that a significant proportion of car accidents are caused by breathless drivers. It is therefore advisable to diagnose the condition and receive treatment as soon as possible.

Symptoms that qualify a patient for treatment for sleep apnoea at Wellclinic

The symptoms of sleep apnoea are not only noticeable at night, but also during the day. During sleep, the patient snores irregularly and stops breathing for long periods. He or she often awakens from sleep and experiences anxiety compounded by an accelerated heartbeat or a feeling of shortness of breath. It may be accompanied by excessive sweating and a frequent need to urinate. During the day, on the other hand, the patient is mainly affected by sleep deprivation, irrespective of the time of day when sleep starts: patients complain of morning migraine, an increased feeling of fatigue and sleepiness, as well as excessive nervousness associated with difficulty in concentrating. If this description sounds familiar to you, there is a good chance that you are suffering from sleep apnoea.

Is such a dream dangerous?

The symptoms of sleep apnoea are highly interfering with wellbeing, but its characteristics can be attributed to other conditions or circumstances. Under no circumstances should the symptoms of deteriorating health be ignored and in the case of sleep apnoea it is no different. In the worst-case scenario, the condition can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

What is the difference between sleep apnoea and snoring?

It is important to know that snoring may or may not be the result of sleep apnoea. Snoring can result from airway obstruction, but it can also be one of the symptoms of sleep apnoea. Many people undertake the surgical treatment of snoring without a prior diagnosis of OBS - a fundamental mistake, because after surgery the sleep-disordered breathing is not cured, but the most prominent symptom - snoring - disappears.

How do we treat sleep apnoea at Wellclinic?

Until recently, sleep apnoea was, in theory, incurable, whereas aesthetic medicine has found azła solution that effectively treats the condition. At our medical clinic, we use the Fotona Dynamis Sp Pro technology, which uses an erbium-yag laser to offer the chance for a non-surgical and safe return to healthy sleep.

The downside of traditional treatments for snoring is the long recovery time and the risk of complications. For this reason, treatment of snoring with the Fotona laser is a much more favourable choice, especially for those who cannot afford the exclusionary effects of invasive procedures from their routine. The method we have chosen is a world first, as it is the first to combat breathing problems without the need for anaesthesia and the requirement for long-term recovery.

The treatment for sleep apnoea and snoring at Wellclinic is supported by the proprietary Weldream programme, developed by medical practice owner Christopher Reinhard. The programme relies on diagnostic blood tests. The results of the morphology allow an individualised nutritional regime to be tailored to alkalise and de-escalate the body, permanently eliminating snoring and its accompanying conditions.

Results of treatment at Wellclinic

How is it possible that the laser is able to heal the airways? Well, new collagen fibres are formed during the treatment and laser irradiation. The treated area gains firmness, elasticity and stiffness. As a result, it is no longer at risk of sagging and flaccidity during sleep, which can cause frequent awakening and breathing problems. Apnoea and snoring are systematically reduced - during the course of the treatment, the body gets rid of mucus from the sinuses, cleanses itself and alkalises. This is nothing more than the restoration of the body's normal balance, not only in the treated area.
