Keratin a structural protein that is a key component hair, fingernails and the outer layer epidermis. It ensures their strength, flexibility and protection against damage.
In the body, keratin acts as a structural and protective component. In in the hair and fingernails is responsible for their durability and mechanical strength, whilst in the skin it helps to form the epidermis’s protective barrier.
Weakening of the keratin structure can lead to a deterioration in the condition of the hair and nails, including brittleness, fragility and dryness. One of the associated problems is brittle hair.
