Erythema is a dermatological symptom characterised by redness of the skin. It is caused by the dilatation of blood vessels. It can occur as a reaction to various factors such as stress, physical exertion, temperature changes, alcohol consumption, and as a result of skin diseases such as rosacea. In the case of rosacea, erythema can be chronic and difficult to treat.

In aesthetic medicine clinics, erythema is treated using a variety of methods, including laser therapy to effectively closure of dilated blood vesselsand IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, which reduce redness and improve skin tone. Adequate skin care and avoidance of erythema triggers is also an important part of the treatment.
