Tinea pedis is a chronic infection caused by microscopic organisms, the same ones responsible for tinea pedis of the feet, groin and nails. Tinea pedis is almost always a consequence of a previous infection of the feet.The main symptoms of tinea pedis are redness of the skin, severe keratosis and scaling, itching and soreness. It can very easily be confused with the symptoms of psoriasis or atopic dermatitis.
