Laser depilation Chin hair removal is a procedure involving the reduction or permanent removal of hair from the chin, cheeks and neck. The treatment is used to reduce the need for daily shaving, as well as in situations where traditional methods lead to skin irritation or ingrown hairs. In certain cases, it also allows for a permanent change to the beard line. Further information on the method can be found in the treatment description laser depilation.
Principle of action on male beards
Hair in the chin area is characterised by high density and a high melanin content, which means it responds well to laser light. The energy emitted by the device is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, where it is converted into heat.
As a result, thermal damage occurs to the structures responsible for hair growth, including the matrix cells and the hair follicle. This process leads to a gradual weakening and reduction in hair growth.
Due to the hair growth cycle, a full effect requires a series of treatments. Hair in the active growth phase (anagen) is most responsive to laser treatment.
Facial hair removal – safety and comfort during the procedure
- TEC Thermo Electric Cooling – an active epidermal cooling system that lowers the skin’s temperature whilst the laser pulse is being emitted. This minimises discomfort and reduces the risk of irritation, whilst allowing the device to operate at effective energy levels.
- In Motion Technology – a method of operation involving the uniform and continuous delivery of energy whilst moving the handpiece across the skin. This approach ensures a stable energy output and enhances control over the treatment process.
The use of cooling systems and the device’s operating technology, such as that found in the platform Laser Prime 3D, allows for controlled action on the hair follicle whilst minimising the impact on the surrounding tissues.
Indications for treatment
Laser depilation of the chin It is used in cases where it is necessary to reduce facial hair or improve skin comfort on the face.
The most common indications include a tendency towards ingrown hairs, recurrent inflammation of the hair follicles associated with shaving, and hormonal hirsutism, including hirsutism in women.
The treatment can also be carried out to achieve a more even appearance and maintain a consistent beard line.
