In weight-loss diets, there are several categories of foods that fill the daily menu well. The key to healthy eating is fruit and vegetables. They contain a large amount of water and are low in calories. They can be eaten with every meal and their calorie content allows you to increase the portion size of, for example, lunch. Fruit goes well with low-fat dairy products. They are perfect as a breakfast with yoghurt or as a sweet afternoon snack.

People who eat meat should choose the leanest types. Foods with a high content of beneficial nutrients include fish. Meat substitutes in vegetarian diets are legumes. The protein content of such products gives the body strength, especially if we have undertaken intensive exercise in addition to our diet.

Cereal products are also welcome at the slimming. These are the foods that should fill your daily carbohydrate requirements. Such products include pasta, rice, bread or cereals. In the case of pasta, rice and bread, we should choose dark varieties (i.e. brown rice, wholemeal bread or wholemeal pasta).

The fat contained in produce and in frying is largely responsible for weight gain. When losing weight, however, you cannot give them up completely. Fat an essential ingredient to be taken in, but in reduced quantities. When losing weight, it is a good idea to give up deep-frying food and opt for steaming, for example. If you opt for a fried dinner, it is worth swapping oil for olive oil.
