Vitiligo is a chronic skin condition that causes cells to fail to produce melanin. The most common symptom of vitiligo is discoloured, chalky white or pale white patches on the skin. They also appear on the hair, mouth or iris of the eyes. At first, the spots are small in size, which enlarge and change shape over time.
