Acne vulgaris is the most common disease affecting the skin of the face, back and chest. Characteristic features of acne vulgaris are blackheads Open and closed, as well as papules and purulent cysts. The pustules are located in the seborrhoeic area, i.e. right next to the hair follicles.

A growing body of research indicates that gut microbiota can also affect skin conditions, including the development of acne. An imbalance of gut bacteria can increase inflammation in the body, affect the immune system and endocrine balance, which can promote the appearance of acne lesions.
