Hair loss treatment – an effective way to stop hair loss

treatment of alopecia

Hair loss rarely begins when the problem becomes obvious to everyone. It starts much earlier – and the longer you ignore it, the harder it is to regain what has been lost. NFirst you notice a few more hairs on your brush, then your hair starts to lose volume, your parting widens, or your hairline recedes slightly. It’s easy to assume this is just a temporary problem. However, increased hair loss may be a sign that the hair growth cycle has been disrupted and requires proper diagnosis.

It’s not worth waiting until the thinning becomes noticeable. Treatment of alopecia It is worth starting by identifying the cause of the problem and assessing the condition of the scalp and hair. Hair loss can have various causes – ranging from genetic predisposition and hormonal changes to past illnesses, stress or disruptions to the natural hair growth cycle. Therefore, effective treatment should be tailored to the type of hair loss and the patient’s individual circumstances.

Causes of hair loss

Hair does not grow in the same way all the time. It goes through successive stages that make up its natural cycle. Knowledge of stages of hair growth It helps us to better understand why a temporary increase in hair loss does not always mean permanent hair loss.

The problem arises when hair loss becomes excessive, persists for a long time, or the hair does not regain its previous thickness. In such cases, the cause may require more detailed diagnosis.

The appearance and condition of the scalp are also influenced by its state. Excessive sebum production may be linked to seborrhoeic dermatitis, and scalp problems can also affect the condition and appearance of the hair.

Types of hair loss – not all hair loss looks the same

Hair loss can take various forms. Androgenetic alopecia It is one of the most common types of hair loss and affects both women and men. In men, it often begins with a receding hairline and the formation of a ‘V-shape’, and may subsequently spread to the crown of the head. In women, gradual thinning of the hair is more commonly observed. Another form is alopecia areata, in which clearly defined areas of hair loss appear.

In turn telogenetic alopecia is linked to a disruption of the natural hair growth cycle. Hair loss can also be caused by hormonal factors, following an infection – including COVID-19 – and, in women, the problem may also worsen during the menopause. It is also worth bearing in mind that cicatricial alopecia or seborrhoeic alopecia.

Receding hairlines in men – what causes them and when should you take action?

For many men, the problem starts precisely with bends. The hairline gradually recedes, and the hair around the temples becomes increasingly thin. Initially, the change may be slight and easy to conceal with the right hairstyle. Over time, however, the receding hairline may become more pronounced.

They do not always immediately indicate advanced hair loss. The appearance of the hairline is also influenced by the natural shape of the forehead and genetic factors. However, if the hairline continues to recede, it is worth investigating the cause. More on this, What are recesses and where do they come from?, as explained in a separate paper on this subject.

Receding hairlines in women – the causes

Although corners Although we most often associate this with men, the problem can also affect women. Receding hairlines in women They may be linked, amongst other things, to genetic predisposition, hormonal changes or progressive hair thinning. Their appearance does not necessarily indicate the same type of hair loss as that seen in men.

In women, particular attention should be paid to situations where a receding hairline appears relatively suddenly or is accompanied by noticeable thinning of the hair across the entire scalp. In such cases, it is worth examining not only the hairline itself, but also the condition of the scalp and the hair growth cycle.

Diagnosis prior to treatment for hair loss

Before starting treatment for hair loss, it is worth establishing the cause of the problem. This is particularly important in the case of sudden or severe hair loss.

During the consultation, the condition of the scalp, the pattern of hair thinning and the nature of the changes can be assessed. Depending on the situation, the following may also be helpful: hair tests. If there is a suspicion that the problem is linked to hormonal imbalance, the doctor may decide that appropriate diagnostic tests are necessary, e.g. hormone tests in men.

This approach helps to avoid randomly trying out different treatments and procedures without first identifying the cause of the problem.

Hair loss treatment – the right time to start treatment

Hair loss It’s easy to brush it off. Many people put up with the problem for a long time, hoping that the situation will sort itself out. Yet gradual hair thinning or a receding hairline are signs that are worth looking into.

The sooner the condition of the scalp and hair is assessed, the easier it is to plan the appropriate course of action. This applies both to men experiencing a receding hairline and to women who notice a reduction in hair density or curves in women.

Laser hair loss treatment

The method used at Wellclinic is a combination therapy laser treatment for hair loss z tissue biostimulation. The aim is to treat both the scalp and the hair follicles simultaneously using two complementary methods.

The first stage is laser therapy carried out using Fotona Dynamis SP PRO. Long laser pulses act on the scalp and hair follicles, stimulating them into activity. The treatment is carried out using a special handpiece, which allows the procedure to be performed quickly and precisely.

The second component of the treatment is tissue biostimulation using products that support the scalp’s regenerative processes. Depending on individual needs, the treatment can be supplemented with polynucleotides or ASCE exosomes. The aim of combining these two stages is to create a comprehensive treatment regimen that supports the health of the scalp and helps to improve the quality and growth of hair.

What does the procedure involve?

The treatment is short, requires no recovery period and can be carried out on both women and men aged 18 and over.

Therapy It begins with a detailed medical history and an assessment of any potential contraindications. The scalp is then properly prepared for the procedure.

The whole procedure takes about 10–20 minutes, depending on the treatment area. The treatment does not require any recovery time, so you can resume your daily activities straight after your appointment.

In the case of combination therapy, the standard protocol includes 6 appointments, one per week. However, the final treatment plan should be tailored to the individual.

Laser therapy and biostimulation – a combination of two therapeutic methods

Combining the two technologies makes it possible to tackle the problem from different angles. Laser therapy is designed to stimulate the hair follicles, whilst polynucleotides are used to biostimulate and support the skin’s regenerative processes.

Other treatments are also used in hair care, including, amongst others,. needle mesotherapy of the scalp whether treatments that use platelet-rich plasma. However, this does not mean that every method will be suitable for everyone. The choice of treatment should depend on the type of hair loss, the condition of the scalp and the desired results.

Can hair loss treatment be an alternative to a hair transplant?

Hair transplantation It is a surgical procedure and need not always be the first option considered by someone who notices their hair thinning. Where appropriate, one may opt for less invasive methods to support hair health at an earlier stage.

Laser therapy When combined with biostimulation, it does not involve breaking the skin or require a long recovery period. It is therefore an option for those who wish to begin their treatment with a non-surgical procedure.

However, it should not be regarded as a universal alternative to a hair transplant. Every case of hair loss is different, which is why the most important thing is to diagnose the problem correctly and assess the treatment options.

The effects of alopecia treatment

The aim of the therapy is, first and foremost, slowing down excessive hair loss and improving their density and condition. Where appropriate, the treatment may help to achieve a more even thickness of the hair on the head.

It is worth remembering that hair takes time. The effects of the treatment do not appear overnight, as hair growth is linked to the hair’s natural cycle. Therefore, once the course of treatment has finished, the changes may continue to develop over the following months.

Don’t wait until your hair starts to thin

If you’re finding more and more hair on your brush, pillow or in the shower drain, don’t wait until the problem becomes visible in the mirror. Hair loss can get worse gradually, and the cause isn’t always obvious. The sooner you identify the source of the problem, the quicker you can assess which course of action will be right for you.

During consultations at Wellclinic A specialist will assess the condition of your scalp and hair and recommend the appropriate course of treatment, taking into account the cause and severity of the problem.
