Cellulite makes us feel uncomfortable when exposing our body. It often appears in people who are not overweight but, on the contrary, are very slim. In drugstores you will find many cosmetics that claim to help removal of cellulite. The lack of results brings doubt - can cellulite be removed? The best way to reduce cellulite is through aesthetic medicine treatments, supported by a proper diet and minimal physical activity. In our aesthetic medicine practice, you can painlessly get rid of excess fat and firm your skin with two simple treatments. See what they involve.
Removal of cellulite - radiofrequency or radio waves
Treatment for cellulite is based on technology radiofrequency and acoustic wavej. Radiofrequency is a method of stimulating the synthesis of new collagen and elastin in the skin. When electromagnetic waves are emitted into the skin and partly the subcutaneous layer, the regeneration of collagen fibres is accelerated. An electromagnetic wave needs the right frequency to act on the connective tissue (approximately 500,000 kHz). This causes the temperature of the body being treated to rise significantly, up to 40 degrees Celsius. The radiofrequency treatment is non-invasive and results in higher cell metabolism, i.e. better blood supply to the subcutaneous layer. This promotes a partial fat reduction forming cellulite.
Acoustic wave treatment for cellulite
Shockwave is the other direction treatment of cellulite. It is characterised by high amplitude oscillations, with associated spikes in skin cell pressure. With this treatment, the membrane of the cells that make up the subcutaneous layer is damaged. This accelerates the process of lipolysis, i.e. the destruction of our 'yellow' cells, resulting in an increase in the metabolism of new fat cells. This is what makes your skin firm and smooth. Fat removal, on the other hand, has a stimulating effect on the silhouette, which becomes slimmer and the body circumference is significantly reduced.
Both techniques mentioned lead to cellulite reduction and skin regeneration. At Wellclinic, we use a programme that combines both technologies. Using a head applied to your skin, radio waves and acoustic waves will be emitted. By feeling the heat from the waves, your cells will synthesise new collagen and the old collagen will be removed as part of the rebuilding process. Thanks to the cellulite removal treatment, the skin gains elasticity and certain parts of the body become slimmer.
